The Foundation’s actions aim to give children what they need most to move forward: safety, confidence and guidance. We support initiatives that protect children with fragile life paths and give them access to education so they can learn, dare to shine and project themselves into the future. Behind our actions, Tape à l'œil teams are concretely committed, convinced that solidarity can, and must, be part of company life.
At Tape à l'œil, diversity is a reality we want to grow. We believe that everyone needs a respectful and secure environment to commit, learn and progress. It is in this spirit that we develop employment for people with disabilities and support young talents in their first professional steps.
We are committed to working with responsible partners wherever our clothes are manufactured. This involves relationships based on transparency, respect for people and decent working conditions. Our presence in the main production countries enables us to build solid partnership relationships. We also regularly have our direct suppliers audited by independent third parties to ensure compliance with our commitments under the international framework.
We constantly improve the quality of our clothes so that they last as long as possible, even after many washes and adventures. To achieve this, 100% of our products are tested in production according to a strict set of specifications that we continuously develop. In 2026, 24% of our collection is recognised by Refashion for its durability. This requirement is also reflected in real use: according to Kantar, our return rates and customer satisfaction are constantly improving. To date, fewer than 5 items out of 10,000 sold are returned, a result that encourages us to go even further.
From the design stage, we prioritise certified organic fibres grown without chemical pesticides, recycled materials to limit the use of resources, and certified controlled products to guarantee the absence of harmful substances (OEKO-TEX label). In 2026: 85% of our products are concerned and identifiable thanks to our global Eco-Design label.
We make circularity a reflex. In 2026, 60 second-hand corners are deployed in stores and our repair service continues to develop.
We support our workshops in improving their environmental practices. In 2026, 25% of our production is handled by sites audited on precise environmental criteria related to their practices and impact.
We are transforming our logistics to reduce our emissions. 15% of our deliveries are made by electric trucks, and we use biofuels for journeys between the port and warehouses. Thanks to second-hand, we will avoid the emission of 203 tCO₂.
We are rolling out a sorting and recycling system in 60 stores to better control every stage. In 2026: 100% of waste from our stores is recycled and tracked, from collection to transformation, so that no resource is lost.
The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification is a mark of quality in terms of chemical safety of textiles, from yarn to finished product. It certifies that all the elements making up the article have successfully passed chemical safety tests at a level higher than the regulations.
To help you take care of your clothes, we have created several care guides full of tips to preserve their quality.
We have chosen to manufacture denims using an optimised finishing process, reducing water, energy and chemical consumption, while controlling the impact on workers’ health. By choosing to manufacture LOWER IMPACT denims rather than conventional denims for our summer 2023 collection, we saved the equivalent of 5.85 Olympic swimming pools* in the finishing process. *Equivalence calculation = number of kilos of product manufactured × 45 L
Ecodesign consists of integrating environmental criteria from the creation of a product. At Tape à l'œil, 60% of our products are designed with at least one Ecodesign parameter, such as the use of certified raw materials (for example: organic cotton, recycled fibres or TENCEL™), or the application of processes aimed at limiting the use of resources, such as water or energy, during certain manufacturing stages (e.g.: finishing of our Lower Impact denims).
We regularly make donations to associations, sell them in our outlet stores and organise clearance sales in our stores. Defective products are given to Le Relais.
To date, we have removed 80% of our plastic packaging and this is only the beginning! We are looking every day for innovative solutions to replace the plastic elements in our packaging. It takes time, but our goal is clearly to say goodbye to it 👋🏻
We work with suppliers who commit to complying with European regulations on the use of chemical substances (REACH). Before arriving in store, our products are tested in the laboratory to ensure they meet these requirements. At the same time, we carry out a series of audits in our partner factories to better understand their operations, particularly wastewater treatment.
40% of our products are manufactured in Bangladesh and a small part is manufactured in closer countries such as Morocco, Turkey and even France for capsule collections. We are very vigilant in the choice of our partner factories and ensure that none of them uses child labour; audits are carried out regularly to verify this.
We verify that the factories do not employ children, that workers work in good health and safety conditions, that their pay is fair, that their working hours are decent, that they are free to join associations, that their human rights are respected, that no forced labour is practised and that no discrimination is applied.
We apply the rules of the International Labour Organization which regulates the framework of pay and working hours with pay assessed according to each country.
Yes! Our goal is to offer you quality clothes that last a long time and that your kids can wear and re-wear. Today, we are reducing our number of product references to avoid too frequent renewal and allow you to buy less but better.
Our mission at TAO is to offer you quality products at the most affordable prices possible. We run sales or promotions that allow us both to clear our collections when necessary and to please our customers. Today, we are reducing our number of product references to avoid too frequent renewal and allow you to buy less, but better.
We measure our CO2 footprint every year!
We are constantly looking to improve it. For example, we choose, as often as possible, the maritime route which is less polluting than the
air route. We choose our partner factories based on their impact and their actions in favour of environmental preservation. Today, 62%
of our collections meet our ECODESIGN criteria and we are looking every day to increase this figure.
Our goal is to create quality clothes so that they are worn as long as possible by your kids and can then live many lives. In 2021, we created our new corner: SECOND HAND to give a new life to your kids’ clothes.
